You thought they might with the launch of Android, it\u2019s mobile OS, but they persisted. And for good reason, because it\u2019s real.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 19px; margin-top: 1em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px;\">In the second half of 2010, Google plans to launch the Google Chrome OS, an operating system designed from the ground up to run the Chrome web browser on netbooks. \u201cIt\u2019s our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be,\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/googleblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/07\/introducing-google-chrome-os.html\" target=\"_blank\">Google says<\/a> on its blog.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 19px; margin-top: 1em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px;\">But let\u2019s be clear on what this really is. This is Google dropping the mother of bombs on its chief rival, Microsoft.
