Google Product Search for mobile

imggooglelogo200902.jpgGoogle just announced that Google Product Search is now tightly gone mobile. You can search product price comparisons in your iPhone or Android phone. The new interface is tailored for these devices making it easier to read customer reviews.

El Chándal

Now you Can Change What Google Says about you

imgGoogleLogo200902 Google me? I’ll Google you! Google has become the de facto public record these days but most people remain in relative obscurity there and/or fear of what past indiscretions Google will expose to people who search for them.

Today Google released a product, called Google Me, that aims to change all of that. For a price – though not a monetary one.

Starting today, searchers who enter only the word “me” in the search box will be given an opportunity to set up or edit their Google Profile.

When someone searches for a name that matches a Google Profile, that profile may now be displayed at the bottom of the search results page.

New look for tokao

tokaotoi.tokao.com is washing his face. In fact I am even considering removing the toi and call it just tokao.
I have been this theme that I found in internet to display number of comments, tags, and categories. Changed some colors etc…

I hope you like it.

Also in addition to the new look I am going to try to post more regularly, in particular with the stuff I see that I like. Mostly related with technology.

My favourites are “my punch bowl” for A-Z free event organization, and “eventbrite” which is very professional and free for free events. Then a commission for paid ones. “aimado” is very good too.

Then you can also organise events using outlook or iCal.

Social networking tools such as Facebook allow you also to create events and manage attendance.

A very simple tool to agree on a date or on what to bring or whatever is doodle.

The best professional one cvent.

Sennheiser MM50ip

I ordered my new set of earphones at internet.ch. If I buy in Switzerland I always compare prices in Switzerland with toppreise.

I had the same model without the mic manufactured by creative. I was really happy as the quality sound is superbe with no distortion at all.

In addition to this they isolate very well from the noise outside, so I decided to go and buy the model for the iPhone.

It has been a week now since I have them and I am very happy. Same sound quality, and it is cool that you can use the little button to stop the music or with double click to go to next one.

The only complain is the mic. Looks like it is worse than the one you get with the earphones that come originally with the iPhone. The person at the other side of the line often complains that cannot hear me properly.

In the overall I am very happy. I am addicted to music, podcasts and audiobooks, that I listen to everyday, plus during office hours I plug them into my macbook pro and I listen somafm all day. A cool feature is that in a mac, you plug them in the headphones jack, but the mic will work if you are chatting in skype for instance. Very cool. Very mac.

Search Trash folder in a Mac 10.5.6

I was wondering how to search something that was in the trash folder in my macbook…. not easy. This is the way to do it:

Go to the Finder, select Go > Go To Folder and type in ~/.Trash to bring up a Finder window showing the contents of your Trash, but this time around, Mac OS X recognizes it as a searchable window.

Type your search criteria, and then be sure to select .Trash as the location you’re searching (if you choose This Mac, the results you’re looking for won’t be found).

gubb

Remember I posted a link to a web based “to do” list called “Remember the Milk“?
Remeber the Milk was very good web tool to manage your to do lists. It even has offline mode using google gears.

Now we have a new comer in the market: gubb

gubb is a free web-based application with an easy-to-use interface that enables you to create, manage and share an unlimited number of lists.

gubb is for any and all the lists you can think of: from every day shopping and to-do lists to wishlists, brainstorming notes, personal goals, group projects and more. Just about as easy as jotting something down on paper, only better. You’ll always know where your lists are; you can edit and organize them any time; and you can share with friends and co-workers in seconds.

I use Things for mac and iPhone. Also Evernote.

61 Exceptionally Creative Wine Label Designs

from: weburbanist.com

winemontage1

Much of the enjoyment of wine is in the selection. Whether you are a casual drinker or a wine connoisseur, the process of picking a bottle of wine is made more exciting by the packaging. Wine labels that catch our attention are the ones with beautiful artwork, sleek and elegant designs or the clever use of humor.

Traditional and Vintage

Traditional wine labels are elegant and refined, as you might expect the wine inside the bottle to be. The packaging is highly functional, though more utilitarian than visually exciting. Coat of arms or family crests often grace these labels, giving them their “strictly business” or historic appearance. While traditional and vintage wine labels are often attractive and appealing in their own right, there is no hint of marketing. These labels seem to let the integrity and reputation of the winery speak for itself.

Coming On Strong: Typography

Designers who make use of typography, and do it well, can make a visual impact solely through the arrangement and composition of words. No graphics or logos are necessary in these types of designs, as the text itself is artistic. Great use of typography creates and conveys a feeling within the text that reaches far beyond the simple meaning of the words. Whether subtle and understated or basic and bold, typography is an effective creative design tool.

A Humorous Flavor

A sense of humor can go a long way in creating a marketable design. There are a sea of choices when shopping for wine, and for the casual wine drinker, the selection may come down to a label that comes with a laugh. You may be driven by curiosity to purchase a wine that labels itself “substandard,” or buy a wine named after the back end of a horse as a party prop. Labels that seem to let us in on a running joke grab our attention.

Creative Beauty and Style

Some wine labels are incredible works of art. These labels are so beautiful; it can be a challenge for the wine to outshine its packaging. Existing works of art by famous artists are sometimes incorporated into a label design, and bring a sense of familiarity to the label. Other wineries use images, original artwork and sleek design to craft the masterpiece on the outside of the bottle.

Form, Function and Elegance

Braille wine labels are exceptionally beautiful to look at and serve a vital purpose for those who cannot see them. When design and function work in harmony, the effect can be incredible. Wine labels that present the brand in an elegant and useful way are on target and connect with consumers.

Party Animals

Animals often make appearances on wine labels. Sometimes man’s best friend is the party animal, while other times silly monkeys come out to play. The choice of animal on the label may be used to convey a message about the wine. Wild horses convey a freedom, perhaps a subtle symbol of the loss of inhibitions. A great white shark can signify something far bolder.

Pop Art

Who doesn’t love pop art? Wines that display colorful, gritty and slightly disturbing art on the labels are often hard to pass up. The art may have nothing to do with the wine, but even with this complete disconnection it works. We are drawn into the drama and exaggerations these labels. On a literal level, pop star Madonna graces the label of her namesake wine.

A Collection of Memories

If you’re a wine enthusiast, scrapbooker or just someone who likes to keep a record of good times, you might want to remove the wine labels from the bottles and save them as part of a collection. There are methods of removing wine labels without damaging them so that you can treasure your memories. Exceptionally good wine labels may be suitable for framing, while others can be kept in a scrapbook with the story behind the label.
